How To Use A Nut Milk Bag For Juicing
When it comes down to it, most people are not drinking enough of an antioxidant rich drink– our health depends on it! Luckily, there is now a way to make your own nut milk in the form of a milk bag.
A milk bag is like having your very own extra sleeve that you can use to pour your liquid into. You can then pull the milk bag up through the fluid to separate out the solid bits from the milk.
After doing this several times, the milk will be separated into its components easily. Some people even wash their milk bags with soap so they do not have to worry about bacteria or contamination.
There are many different types of milk bags available online and at stores. They all work the same way except for what type of milk each one uses.
Pour the milk into the bag
The next step in making your nut milk is to pour the leftover liquid into another container. You can do this through either top pouring or bottom pouring!
Top pouring means using a spoon to put some of the liquid in the other container. For example, if you made cashew milk, then you would use a spoon to add it into your glass bottle with all of the supplements.
The problem with this method is that not every ingredient has an established ratio. Different brands have different amounts of each supplement based on personal preference. This could make it difficult to know how much to put in yours!
Bottom pouring uses the natural force of gravity to inject the fluid into the second container. After mixing the first batch of milk, there will be an empty jar at the end. Simply line a new jug (container) with a fresh nut milk bag and fill it up from the remaining milk mixture.
This way, you are sure to get the same amount of each ingredient for both consistency and accuracy.
Put the bag into the refrigerator
After you have poured your nut milk in a bowl, it is time to put the milk bag into the fridge! This will keep the nuts fresh and preserve the nutrients of the milk.
When putting the milk bag into the fridge, make sure to pull out the mouth of the bag first and then roll the rest of the bag up around itself. This way, when the bag comes out the next day, it will more easily slip off the spoon.
After that, just hold the top of the bag with one hand while pulling down on the bottom of the bag with the other, like rolling up a sleeve! When using the same milk bag for several drinks, remember to wash and dry it between uses.
And don’t forget to drink your milk! The healthy fats in these beverages are important to enjoy them.
Let it sit for a few minutes to set up
After you use your nut milk bag, let it sit for a few minutes to dry. This will ensure that no liquid is retained in the pouch. If this happens, either wash the item more thoroughly or try using another one of these bags!
Productivity tip: When washing your drinkware, make sure to rinse each part separately. Do not pour water over all of them at once as this may cause rings or bubbles on some parts.
Slowly squeeze the milk out into the container
The second step is to slowly pour your liquid nut milk down in the cup or bowl where you want it. Make sure to push all of the milk through so that you get all of the goodness!
Once it has been poured into the container, you can store the leftover nut milk in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it again. When using the leftover nut milk, whisk it first to re-activate the protein it contains.
This process will give you some of the most delicious drinks you have ever tasted! If there is any left over pulp from the nuts, just add some more water and blend until it disappears.
Store the milk in the refrigerator
After you use all of your nuts, it is important to either refrigerate them or place them in the freezer until they are fully dried. This will prevent liquid from escaping as the nuts dry!
Once they are dry, process your nut milk in a food processor or using an immersion blender to create your beverage. Make sure to add some water so that the mixture doesn’t clog up the equipment too much.
After adding the water, pour the liquids through a nut milk bag or piece of cheesecloth to filter out any leftover bits. The milk can then be stored in the fridge until ready to drink.
Re-use the bag
One of the things that can be expensive is buying new juicing bags every time you make your drink. Fortunately, there are some great re-usable or recyclable juice bag options out there!
Some people choose to wash their old nut milk bag in water and then dry them before using them again. This removes any tartar that may have formed due to oxidation of the nuts. You also do not need to heat soak the bag either – just put it through the top rack of the dishwasher and away you go!

Mix different flavors of milk
While most people use plain old cow’s milk as nut milk, you can mix it up and add in some flavor variations. Try adding about one cup of your favorite nuts into your blender with two cups of your regular milk.
Once mixed, pour the liquid into an empty milk jug or bowl lined with a nut milk bag. Make sure to squeeze all of the excess liquid out of the bag before using it in another recipe!
Some recipes require dry milk which you can get by running your milk through a powder maker or setting aside a certain amount of milk that has already been processed. Add these additions to your blend when preparing the drink.
Nut butter is another addition that you can include in your beverage. Simply add this ingredient at the last minute so it does not over-blend.
Try non-dairy milk substitutes
Most people agree that using nuts as an ingredient in foods or as a drink is delicious, but some individuals may have an allergy or sensitivity. If you are looking to start eating more vegetables or want to try making your own juices or smoothies, then switching out the milk with another liquid can be done!
You can use coconut milk, hemp milk, rice milk, or even chocolate milk as a base to make your nut milk. Simply add the same amount of nuts to each container and process it according to your machine’s instructions.
Coconut milk has no added sugar, so if you like adding sweeteners to your drinks, this is perfect! You can also control how much water you add to achieve your desired consistency.
Hemp milk will not contain any cholesterol, and both coconut and hemp milk can be mixed together, which makes creating new recipes easy. Make sure to mix them properly though, because their densities differ.
General tips when working with dairy products: remember to check your product before consuming it, and if you feel it needs to be refrigerated, do so immediately! Also, make sure to wash all equipment used to prevent possible allergies.
